YOUR PART IN THE BODY OF CHRIST
Jesus has chosen to make Himself visible in this world through His people. The Church is not a building or a program — we are His hands and feet, His voice and heart in the world today.
In this sermon series, We the Church, we’ll explore how Jesus envisioned His people to live in the world and how we can fulfill that vision together. Every follower of Jesus has been filled with His Spirit, called to His mission, and sent so that others might encounter Jesus through us.
Join us for this new series beginning Sunday, September 7th — and discover your part in the body of Christ.
Bible Reading Plan
Week 1: “God's Heart for Mission”
Day 1: Genesis 12:1–3
Devotional: God’s call to Abraham wasn’t just personal—it was global. From the very beginning, God’s blessing was never meant to stop with us. We are blessed to be a blessing. Your story, gifts, and even your resources are meant to overflow into others’ lives. Let today be a reminder that God has chosen you not just to know Him, but to make Him known.
Reflect:
How has God blessed you?
How might those blessings flow through you to others?
Action: Do one small thing today to bless someone else.
Day 2: Psalm 67
Devotional: Blessing is never just for comfort—it’s for impact. The psalmist prays that God's face would shine on His people so that all the nations might come to know Him. That’s the heartbeat of mission: not just receiving grace, but radiating it. You are a mirror of God’s goodness to a watching world.
Reflect:
Why does the psalmist ask for God’s blessing?
What part can you play in others praising God?
Action: Pray that your life would be a reflection of God to the world.
Day 3: Isaiah 6:1–8
Devotional: When Isaiah encounters the living God, he doesn’t get a to-do list—he gets a new heart. Forgiveness leads to mission. God doesn’t need perfect people; He uses willing ones. If you’ve experienced God’s grace, the natural response is, "Send me." Not because you're worthy, but because you’re loved.
Reflect:
How does an encounter with God lead to a heart for mission?
Are you willing to say, "Here I am. Send me"?
Action: Ask God where He wants to send you today—even across the room.
Day 4: Jonah 1 & 3
Devotional: Jonah ran from the mission because he didn’t want God to be gracious to "those people." But God's heart is too big to be confined by our biases. Even our reluctant obedience can be used by God to bring transformation. Don’t let fear or frustration keep you from participating in His mission.
Reflect:
What might you be avoiding when it comes to mission?
How can you trust God's heart for those hard-to-love places?
Action: Reach out to someone you may have been avoiding. Show kindness.
Day 5: Matthew 5:13–16
Devotional: Jesus doesn’t say, "Try to be salt and light." He says, "You are." That means your influence and impact aren’t optional—they’re built into your identity in Christ. Even when you feel small or hidden, your life carries the power to push back darkness.
Reflect:
Where has God placed you to shine light or preserve goodness?
How are you living distinctly as a follower of Jesus?
Action: Be intentionally encouraging or generous in one place where you often feel invisible
