  • How did Jesus use words from the Bible when He was tempted?

  • How can we use words from the Bible when we are tempted?

  • Share a way you are tempted to sin.

  • How does knowing that Jesus never sinned give us hope when we give in to temptation?

Family Activity:

  • Memorize Scripture as a family. Consider using the key passage.

  • Invite each family member to share ways in which they are tempted. Pray for each other and hold each other accountable during the week.

Elementary:

  • The devil came to tempt Jesus.

  • How do we respond when we are tempted?

  • Why is it important that Jesus was tempted and never sinned?

Family Activity:

  • Research how to make a solar oven using stones, aluminum foil, black paper, and plastic wrap. Use it to bake bread and talk about Jesus’ being tempted to make stones into bread.

  • Journal: Draw or list some temptations you face. Then write a short prayer, asking God for strength to fight temptation.
