HuddleS are about making disciples who disciple.
A HUDDLE IS A GROUP OF 4 TO 8 PEOPLE WHO DEVELOP THEIR ABILITY TO HEAR AND RESPOND TO GOD TOGETHER.
Huddles typically meet by bi-weekly for 8 months and revolve around two major questions: 1) What is God speaking to you? 2) How are you going to respond? Huddle is about developing confidence in hearing God and doing what he says.
HUDDLE FOLLOWS THE PATTERN OF DISCIPLESHIP WE SEE IN THE GOSPELS.
Jesus calls a group of disciples to journey together for an extended period. During this time, the disciples learn to emulate Jesus. He then sends them out on mission together. The disciples come back to receive encouragement and challenge. They are then sent out again and the cycle continues.
HUDDLE IS DISCIPLESHIP FOR THE PRESENT, NOT DISCIPLESHIP FOR THE FUTURE.
Traditionally, discipleship curriculum prepares you for the future. One typically follow a systematic process that prepares for when X, Y, and Z happens, whereas huddle is about discipleship for the present. What’s God telling you now? And what are you going to do about it?
HOW DO I JOIN? THINK THROUGH THESE QUESTIONS:
- Do I want to hear more clearly from God on a regular basis?
- Am I ready to be challenged and held accountable to the plans I create?
- Do I have the time in my schedule to fully commit to this discipleship process?
If you answer yes to these questions and you want to join a huddle, please contact Curtis Carnes at firstname.lastname@example.org.
